The Scientific Assembly of Slavonia and Baranja is an interdisciplinary scholarly platform organised by the Institute for Scientific and Artistic Work in Osijek of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, with the support of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek and in cooperation with institutions relevant to the scientific, economic, social and cultural development of the region.
The Scientific Assembly of Slavonia and Baranja brings together researchers, professionals, representatives of higher education, local and regional authorities, public institutions and the business community to facilitate interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and discussion of development challenges affecting Slavonia and Baranja in the Croatian, European and international context.
The Scientific Assembly of Slavonia and Baranja is held biennially. Each edition has an overarching theme reflecting current development challenges, while its continuing scholarly framework encompasses economic and regional development, demographic change, sustainability, food and agriculture, health, education and knowledge transfer, technology and digital transformation, public governance, law, culture, heritage and related fields.
The scholarly contribution of the Scientific Assembly is developed through research papers, professional discussions, panels and other forms of knowledge exchange. Full papers that meet the editorial and peer-review requirements are published in the Proceedings of the Scientific Assembly of Slavonia and Baranja.
