The Proceedings of the Scientific Assembly of Slavonia and Baranja are dedicated to publishing original, methodologically sound and thematically relevant scholarly and professional papers. All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening, and full papers that meet the initial requirements are sent for independent expert peer review.

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly or professional merit, originality, methodological quality, clarity, ethical acceptability and relevance to the thematic scope of the Scientific Assembly of Slavonia and Baranja, without discrimination on the basis of personal characteristics, institutional affiliation, citizenship, political views or other beliefs of the authors.

The editorial policy is developed and applied with reference to the standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), particularly the COPE Core Practices and the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers. COPE standards are used as a reference framework for editorial independence, impartial peer review, management of conflicts of interest, confidentiality, authorship, ethical oversight and handling concerns about unethical conduct. Reference to COPE standards does not imply or claim membership of the Scientific Assembly of Slavonia and Baranja in COPE.

Types of contributions
The Proceedings may publish original research papers, review papers, preliminary communications and professional papers. Only full papers that have completed the full editorial and peer-review process are published as peer-reviewed conference papers.

Originality and previous publication
A manuscript must be original, unpublished and not simultaneously under consideration by another journal, publisher or conference. Authors should transparently disclose substantive links with previously published work or earlier versions of the manuscript, all sources of funding, and the use of generative artificial intelligence where it has materially contributed to the text, analysis, images, code or other manuscript content.

Initial editorial screening
After submission, the Editorial Team checks the manuscript’s fit with the conference scope and aims, completeness and compliance with the Author Guidelines, the presence of an English title, abstract and keywords, clarity of the aim, research question and methodology where applicable, a discernible scholarly or professional contribution, compliance with academic integrity and possible signs of plagiarism or inappropriate appropriation of content, and the presence of required ethical and other statements where applicable.

A manuscript that is clearly outside the conference scope, does not meet basic scholarly or professional standards, breaches ethical rules or substantially fails to comply with technical requirements may be rejected without external peer review.
